Privacy Policy - the basics

Having said that, a privacy policy is a statement that discloses some or all of the ways a website collects, uses, discloses, processes, and manages the data of its visitors and customers. It usually also includes a statement regarding the website’s commitment to protecting its visitors’ or customers’ privacy, and an explanation about the different mechanisms the website is implementing in order to protect privacy. 

 

Different jurisdictions have different legal obligations of what must be included in a Privacy Policy. You are responsible to make sure you are following the relevant legislation to your activities and location. 

What to include in the Privacy Policy

Generally speaking, a Privacy Policy often addresses these types of issues: the types of information the website is collecting and the manner in which it collects the data; an explanation about why is the website collecting these types of information; what are the website’s practices on sharing the information with third parties; ways in which your visitors and customers can exercise their rights according to the relevant privacy legislation; the specific practices regarding minors’ data collection; and much, much more.

🔐 How to Delete Your Account

You can permanently delete your VoloSafeRide account and all associated data at any time in one of two ways:

  1. In-App:

    • Open the VoloSafeRide app.

    • Go to Settings → Privacy → Delete Account.

    • Confirm deletion when prompted.

  2. Online Request:

    • Email support@volosaferide.com with the subject line “Delete My Account.”

    • Include the email address or phone number linked to your account.

🧾 What Happens After Deletion

Once your request is confirmed:

  • Your account and all identifying information are permanently removed from Firebase Authentication, Firestore, and Storage.

  • Safety streams, ride history, and contact data are erased within 30 days.

  • Minimal anonymized diagnostic logs may be retained for security or legal compliance for up to 90 days before permanent deletion.

  • After deletion, access to the app and all saved data is lost and cannot be recovered.

⚙️ Partial Data Deletion

If you wish to delete specific information (e.g., ride history, camera footage, or contact list) without deleting your entire account, send a request to
support@volosaferide.com specifying which data to remove.

🧠 Data Security

All user data is encrypted in transit and at rest using Firebase’s secure infrastructure.
VoloSafeRide does not sell or share user data with third parties.
